Preparing Peralta Students for Careers

Colleges secure over $20 million in career development grants.
In response to decreased State support, Abel Guillén has pushed the Peralta Colleges to aggressively pursue external funding that is in line with industry and workforce training needs. We are helping students get the knowledge and skills they need to get good-paying jobs in areas such as green businesses and environmental technology. Here are a few examples:

Green Jobs Corps.
Green Job Corps is a $500,000 grant that provides a career pathway to high-wage green jobs with solar and construction companies. It provides college-credited training in construction skills, solar installation, energy auditing, energy efficiency and green construction.
